Volleyball Recap: Alpine Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Alpine extended their road winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Naida Morris. The Bucks came out on top against the Van Horn Eagles by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday with plenty of help from Morris, who had 56 assists and eight digs. She has been hot for a while, having posted 17 or more assists the last 16 times she's played.

Alpine had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-20, 30-28, 25-12.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alpine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peyton Kinkade, who had 20 kills and three blocks. That's the most blocks Kinkade has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Carrasco, who had 15 kills, three digs, and one block.

Alpine's victory bumped their record up to 23-16. As for Van Horn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 26-15.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Alpine is taking a road trip to square off against Coahoma at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Van Horn, they will square off against Sterling City at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
