After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ursuline, Cardinal Mooney was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Lakeview Bulldogs as they made off with a 7-1 victory. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Cardinal Mooney let Will Petty and Trent Litman run wild. Petty got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Litman went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Litman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Reese, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Cardinal Mooney is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Lakeview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.

Cardinal Mooney and Lakeview should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Cardinals (ranked 80th) will meet Salem (ranked 588th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lakeview will square off against Springfield at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (127 vs. 351).
