Football Game Preview: Pine vs. Amite

If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Amite. On Friday they take on Pine at 7:00 PM. Pine will need to watch out since Amite have now posted big point totals in their last five contests.

Amite got themselves on the board against Northlake Christian last Friday, but Northlake Christian never followed suit. Everything came up roses for Amite against Northlake Christian as the squad secured a 55-0 victory. Followers of Amite probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected five blowout victories.

Meanwhile, Pine have had to suffer through a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Springfield with a sharp 36-7 win. The Pine offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the contest anyway.

Their wins bumped Amite to 6-1 and Pine to 3-3. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, it will be interesting to see how far up these teams can run up the score.
