Softball Game Preview: Marion Patriots vs. Bauxite Miners

The Marion Patriots will venture away from home to square off against the Bauxite Miners at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marion will be strutting in after a win while Bauxite will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Marion made easy work of Batesville and carried off a 14-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won eight in a row.

Malvern hit Bauxite with a five-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Miners fell just short of the Leopards by a score of 10-8. The Miners have struggled against the Leopards recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Bauxite's defeat dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Marion, their victory bumped their record up to 17-8.
