Recap: Southeastern Mustangs vs. Tuscaloosa Academy Knights
The Southeastern Mustangs and the Tuscaloosa Academy Knights squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Southeastern Mustangs had to settle for second. Southeastern was beaten by Tuscaloosa Academy 38-6.
When it comes to explaining why Southeastern lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cole Williams. Despite the final result, he rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown. Williams hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games.
Preston Lancaster was his usual excellent self, throwing for 293 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Lancaster hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for five straight games. Kaleb Colgrove also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Southeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Tuscaloosa Academy, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Southeastern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tuscaloosa Academy will take on Pisgah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pisgah is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
