Baseball Game Preview: Northmont Thunderbolts vs. Edgewood Cougars

The Northmont Thunderbolts will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Edgewood Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Edgewood took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Northmont, who comes in off a win.

If Northmont beats Edgewood with five runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Thunderbolts walked away with a 5-2 victory over Carroll on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Thunderbolts.

The team relied heavily on Brady Whittaker, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Snyder, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Edgewood scored first but ultimately less than Hamilton in their contest on Saturday. They fell 11-7 to the Big Blue. The loss put an end to the Cougars' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Edgewood fell to 2-1. As for Northmont, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
