Softball Recap: Everett Takes a Loss

Everett had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 6-6 to make it four. They fell 5-2 to the Snohomish Panthers. If the Seagulls were looking for revenge after losing 13-0 to the Panthers when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Snohomish, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games.

For Snohomish's part, Abby Edwards spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up 14 Ks. Edwards has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Amelie Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Ward, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Coming up, Everett will venture away from home to take on Stanwood at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Seagulls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Snohomish, they will welcome Monroe at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bearcats have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
