Basketball Recap: Bennett Altepeter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Merrol Hyde Magnet over Jo Byrns

Merrol Hyde Magnet lost against Jo Byrns last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Merrol Hyde Magnet Hawks fell to the Jo Byrns Red Devils 66-62.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bennett Altepeter, who went 7-for-10 on his way to 19 points. Thanks to that strong game, Altepeter now owns an excellent 46.6% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Harrison Gill, who posted 13 points in addition to six assists and six boards.

Merrol Hyde Magnet has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-13 record this season. The win was the fourth in a row for Jo Byrns, bringing their record for this year to 18-6.

Coming up, Merrol Hyde Magnet will take on Knowledge Academies at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jo Byrns does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
