Basketball Recap: Rylee Jugler's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Weber over Riverton

Weber was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverton Silverwolves. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Silverwolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Weber's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rylee Jugler, who posted nine points and seven rebounds. Bradey Schiffman was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Halle Talbot, who had 16 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Talbot a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Hamblin, who put up 11 points and seven rebounds.

Weber's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Riverton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weber will venture away from home to face off against Farmington at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Riverton, they are taking a road trip to take on Bingham at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Addy Horsley and Faythe Stauffer.
