Basketball Game Preview: Horizon Hawks vs. Centaurus Warriors

The Horizon Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Centaurus Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Horizon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 matchups.

Horizon is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Chaparral, who was ranked fourth at the time (Horizon was ranked 11th). Horizon lost to Chaparral at home by a 84-69 margin on Wednesday. The Hawks' loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Centaurus played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 67-43 to Holy Family. The Warriors have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Horizon will have to keep a close watch on Nick Jones and Jt Falzone, a pair of players who had a big impact on Centaurus' prior game. Jones went 7 for 9 en route to 14 points, while Falzone went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points. Sam Esposito was another key player, putting up seven points.

Centaurus' defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Horizon, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-3.
