Softball Recap: Lewis County Lions vs. West Carter Comets
Lewis County won the last time they faced West Carter and things went their way on Thursday too. The Lions walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Comets. Surprisingly, this marked the Lions' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Jerra Lucas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grace Switzer, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

The Lions are facing the Colonels at the right time seeing as the Colonels are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for West Carter, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Elliott County at 7:30 p.m.
