Basketball Game Preview: Taholah Chitwhins vs. Neah Bay Red Devils

Taholah and Neah Bay are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Taholah Chitwhins will head out to square off against the Neah Bay Red Devils at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Taholah has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Neah Bay will arrive with eight straight victories.

On Friday, Taholah came up short against Willapa Valley and fell 74-63. While losing is never fun, the Chitwhins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Vikings are ranked 118th).

Meanwhile, Neah Bay took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 78-47 win over Clallam Bay. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 22 points or more this season.

Neah Bay pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Taholah, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Taholah was taken down by Neah Bay 83-37 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Taholah was down 58-23.
