Volleyball Recap: Archbold Has No Trouble Against Springfield

Archbold won the last time they faced Springfield and things went their way on Monday too. The Blue Streaks put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 3-0 victory. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Blue Streaks this season.

Archbold not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Springfield between 17 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-20, 25-17.

Archbold can attribute much of their success to Scarlett Brehm, who had six digs and four aces.

Brehm wasn't the only good server: Archbold was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 30 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Archbold's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Springfield, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Archbold didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Liberty Center on the 26th. As for Springfield, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Napoleon on the 26th.
