Football Recap: Damari Baynard's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Brooks County over Pierce County + How To Watch

Brooks County lost against Pierce County back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Trojans fell 28-16 to the Bears.

Brooks County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Damari Baynard, who rushed for 156 yards while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Junior Burrus was another key passer, throwing for 159 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Brooks County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Pierce County, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Brooks County and Pierce County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Trojans will face off against Turner County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (101 vs. 311). Meanwhile, Pierce County (ranked 66th) will meet Vidalia (ranked 323rd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
