Basketball Game Preview: Moreno Valley Vikings vs. Brawley Wildcats

The Moreno Valley Vikings and the Brawley Wildcats will round out the year against one another at at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Moreno Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season.

Moreno Valley is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering JW North just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 61-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Alijah Maloid, who posted 19 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamall Thompson, who earned 12 points.

Meanwhile, Brawley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 54-48 to Central. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now lost nine in a row.

Brawley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Moreno Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
