Basketball Recap: Lakeside Takes a Loss

Lakeside had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-16 to make it five. They came up short against the Evans Knights, falling 81-61. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

As for Evans, their record is now 9-7. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since December 6, 2025 (when they won 79-54).

Evans' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ti-Zher Scott, who shot 55% from the field on his way to 27 points and four steals. The game was Scott's third in a row with at least 26 points. Another player making a difference was Kaden Mooring, who went 10-for-16 to rack up 25 points.

Lakeside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 59-58 win against Greenbrier on the 13th. As for Evans, they have also already played their next contest, an 82-53 victory against Effingham County on the 13th.
