The Mohawk Area Warriors will face off against the Shenango Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Mohawk Area will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Mohawk Area is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Sto-Rox a 19-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four games by 15 runs or more so far this season.
Vinny Pezzuolo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Mohawk Area was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Shenango ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Neshannock 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since March 14th.
Tyler Houk spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits.
At the plate, Shenango saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey Campoli, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple was Campoli's first of the season.
Mohawk Area has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Shenango, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
Mohawk Area took their victory against Shenango when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
