Basketball Recap: Sabetha Takes a Loss

Sabetha easily dispatched Hiawatha last Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Sabetha Bluejays fell just short of the Holton Wildcats by a score of 50-48 on Friday. The Bluejays were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 53-37.

Holton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Korben Fox, who posted 11 points and four steals. Kerrick DeDonder was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Sabetha's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Holton, their record is now 6-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sabetha will venture away from home to face off against Nemaha Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Nemaha Central will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Sabetha surely won't give up without a fight. As for Holton, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
