Basketball Recap: Platte County's Losing Streak Snapped at Nine Games

Platte County came into Thursday's contest having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Smithville Warriors 70-35. The matchup marked the Pirates' most dominant victory of the season.

Platte County's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11. As for Smithville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Platte County will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Fort Osage at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th. As for Smithville, they will challenge Raytown South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Smithville is facing Raytown South at the right time seeing as Raytown South is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
