The Niles West Wolves will challenge the Glenbrook North Spartans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Niles West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Niles West took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Lincoln Park a 9-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Not much got past Lexi Kuffel, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Lincoln Park off the board. Kuffel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cheyenne Alameda was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those triples marked the first that she hit this season. Mia Mendoza was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Alameda wasn't the only one making solid contact: Niles West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln Park only managed five hits.

Meanwhile, Glenbrook North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Libertyville.

The victory got Niles West back to even at 2-2. As for Glenbrook North, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
