            Softball Recap: Firelands Falcons vs. Black River Pirates        
        
		
        
        
            After flying high against Wellington  last Tuesday, Firelands came back down to earth. The Falcons fell just short of the Black River Pirates by a score of  6-5 on Wednesday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in April of 2024.

  Lexi Schrader was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring three  runs and  stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. She has been hot recently, having  posted two or more  stolen bases the last three times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Aubrynn Reichle, who  went 2-for-4 with one  double and one  RBI.
Firelands' loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Black River, they now  have a winning record of 6-5.
 Coming up, Firelands will head out on the road to  take on  Columbia  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 14.7  runs per game this season. Black River has  already played their next  matchup (against Oberlin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
