Baseball Recap: University Find Success

University took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Capistrano Valley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The University Trojans never let the Capistrano Valley Cougars get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Monday. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 9-3 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2017.

University saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Wu, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Andrew Dowd also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

University now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Capistrano Valley, they moved to 6-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will challenge St. Margaret's at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Capistrano Valley, they will venture away from home to take on Villa Park at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
