Softball Game Preview: Obion County Rebels vs. Dyersburg Trojans

The Obion County Rebels will head out to face off against the Dyersburg Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Obion County didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Gibson County on Monday.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Dyersburg ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They blew past Covington 16-8. The Trojans not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th (when they won 13-3).

Dyersburg's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7. As for Obion County, their record is now 6-4.

Obion County suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Dyersburg in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
