Volleyball Recap: North Pemiscot's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If North Pemiscot was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Southland on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs fell 3-1 to the Risco Tigers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Saturday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 25-14.

Despite the loss, North Pemiscot still got an impressive performance from Cheyanne Sawyer, who had 34 assists and 14 digs. Sawyer has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Miley McCulloch, who had 11 digs and two aces.

Leighton Calvert was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 18 digs. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September.

North Pemiscot's loss ended a seven-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-8-2. As for Risco, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-9-2.

North Pemiscot has already played their next match (against Campbell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Risco, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Gideon on the 9th.
