Volleyball Recap: Twentynine Palms Comes Up Short

Twentynine Palms was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mighty Arabs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Tuesday.

Twentynine Palms took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-15, 25-17.

Twentynine Palms' loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Coachella Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Twentynine Palms is set to challenge their familiar foe Indio at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Coachella Valley will square off against rival Yucca Valley at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
