Softball Recap: Hayward Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Hayward won against St. Croix Falls on Thursday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Hurricanes didn't even let the Unity Eagles on the board, marking the Hurricanes' second-straight 10-0 shutout. Considering the Hurricanes have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cheyenne Sindlinger was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Kayleigh Kufahl was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Hayward always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .655. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Unity only posted an OBP of .269.

The victory made it two in a row for Hayward and bumps their season record up to 11-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Unity, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hayward is set to take on their familiar foe Spooner at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Unity will challenge rival Ladysmith at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
