Basketball Game Preview: The Meadows School Mustangs vs. Moapa Valley Pirates

The Meadows School is a perfect 3-0 against Moapa Valley since November of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Meadows School Mustangs will host the Moapa Valley Pirates at 6:30 p.m. The Meadows School knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Moapa Valley likes a good challenge.

Last Thursday, everything went The Meadows School's way against Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas as The Meadows School made off with an 81-60 victory. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

The Meadows School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Fink, who went 7 of 9 en route to 17 points and five assists. What's more, Fink also posted a 78% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Grant Moses was another key player, going 6 for 11 on his way to 15 points along with eight assists and three steals.

Meanwhile, Moapa Valley came up short against Virgin Valley on Friday and fell 55-43. The defeat continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost nine in a row.

The Meadows School has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points over those games. As for Moapa Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 11-15.

Everything came up roses for The Meadows School against Moapa Valley when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the team secured an 85-56 win. Will The Meadows School repeat their success, or does Moapa Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
