Softball Recap: Clinton Takes a Loss

After soaring to 14 runs the game before, Clinton was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They came up short against the Midway Raiders, falling 13-1. If the Dark Horses were looking for revenge after losing 15-5 to the Raiders when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Clinton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karson Wilson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Clinton has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. Midway pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Midway will take on Richlands at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Richlands' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Midway's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Clinton will be paying especially close attention to Midway's game: after Midway faces off against Richlands, they'll take on Clinton again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
