Saugus had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Canyon on Thursday. The Centurions were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cowboys. The Centurions not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 14th (when they won 3-0).

Taylor Stires paced Saugus' offense, picking up 12 kills. Stires got some help from Chasiah Omoregie and her 19 assists. Valerie Mejia controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Saugus' victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Saugus is set to square off against their familiar foe Golden Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Canyon will face off against rival Valencia at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Cowboys' favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Vikings have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
