Marion County finds home court redemption against Chattahoochee County

There's no place like home for the Marion County Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Friday. They greeted the New Year with with a 51-35 victory over Chattahoochee County. For Marion County, this counts as revenge for the 60-42 loss Chattahoochee County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.

Among those leading the charge was Jamaya Crumbley, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Taylor Montgomery, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three blocks.

Chattahoochee County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yaelah Protho, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessika Carter , who scored 11 points.

Marion County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Chattahoochee County, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4.

Marion County and Webster County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Webster County comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Chattahoochee County, they will be playing at home against Macon County at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
