Softball Recap: Century Takes a Loss

Century fell victim to West Salem and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alyssa Loza spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Century saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Udasco, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Century's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for West Salem, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Century will host Sherwood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bowmen will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Salem, they will welcome McNary at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
