Recap: Dublin Fighting Irish vs. Twiggs County Cobras
The Dublin Fighting Irish scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They put the hurt on Twiggs County with a sharp 76-56 win. The score was close at the half, but Dublin pulled away in the second half with 51 points.
It was another big night for A.J. Johnson, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Martravius O?neal was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Twiggs County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tykerrion Williams, who scored 14 points. The contest was Williams' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jimmauel Tharpe, who scored nine points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Dublin and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Twiggs County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Dublin will head out on the road to face off against Swainsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Twiggs County will be home for the holidays to greet Stratford Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Stratford Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Twiggs County in Georgia (Stratford Academy is ranked 190th, while Twiggs County is ranked 437th).
