Baseball Game Preview: Rosepine Eagles vs. Vinton Lions

The Rosepine Eagles will head out to face off against the Vinton Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Rosepine's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against East Beauregard as Rosepine made off with a 17-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Vinton made easy work of Pickering on Tuesday and carried off an 11-1 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Lions' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Vinton has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. Rosepine's win bumped their record up to 15-7.

Everything went Rosepine's way against Vinton in their previous matchup back in April of 2022, as Rosepine made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rosepine since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
