Football Recap: Tekonsha Falls to Bellevue in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Tekonsha unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Bellevue Broncos on Thursday, falling 36-14. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

Bellevue's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zain Qahwash led the charge by throwing for 105 yards and three TDs on only five passes, while also rushing for 38 yards and one score. Those 38 rushing yards gave Qahwash a new career-high. Wyatt Dunlap was in the mix too, providing Bellevue with three touchdowns.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tekonsha will take on Camden-Frontier at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th. This will be the Indians' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Bellevue, they will challenge Lenawee Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 5th.
