Baseball Recap: Valor South Austin Comes Up Short

Valor South Austin and St. Stephen's Episcopal pushed the score to 20-10 the last time they played St. Stephen's Episcopal, but on Saturday defenses reigned supreme. The Falcons fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by just one run.

Timothy Noble put in work no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Valor South Austin and nudges their season record down to 12-5. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for St. Stephen's Episcopal, they moved to 3-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Valor South Austin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Stephen's Episcopal, they will challenge Greenhill at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
