Baseball Recap: Deep Creek Takes a Loss

Deep Creek managed to slip by Nansemond River the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hornets lost 11-3 to the Warriors on Thursday. The Hornets just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

David Riddick made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That hit was his first of the season.

Deep Creek's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Nansemond River, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-4.

Coincidentally, Deep Creek and Nansemond River will both be playing Lakeland the next time they take the field. The Warriors will host the Cavaliers at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Hornets will host them at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
