Basketball Recap: Faith Christian Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

It was a proper cat-fight when Faith Christian took on Palatka on Saturday. The Faith Christian Lions took down the Palatka Panthers 70-51. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while the Panthers are ranked 625th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Faith Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Palatka, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Faith Christian will face off against Calvary Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season. As for Palatka, they will take on Interlachen at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Interlachen also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 60 points per game.
