Basketball Recap: Hough Piles Up the Points Against Statesville + How To Watch

A well-balanced attack led Hough over Statesville in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Huskies blew the Greyhounds out of the water with a 76-31 final score. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-14.

Hough got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaylen Byers out in front who went 7-for-10 on his way to 14 points and six steals. Another player making a difference was John Slusher, who made all 6 shots he took for 14 points and five boards.

Hough was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Several Greyhounds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was JoAllyn Williams, who posted six points. Williams also grabbed two steals, marking his first of the season. Jerome Newman was another key player, putting up seven points.

Hough now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Statesville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Hough has already played their next game, a 64-48 victory against Reagan on the 16th. As for Statesville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 74-70 defeat against Alexander Central on the 16th.
