Basketball Recap: Alexander Comes Up Short

Alexander was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-34 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pembroke Dragons. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Pembroke's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Onolee Easterbrook, who posted 12 points along with five steals and three blocks. That's the most blocks Easterbrook has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Hootman, who had eight points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Alexander's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Pembroke, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

While Alexander had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
