Baseball Game Preview: Nelson vs. Glencoe Crimson Tide

Nelson will head out on the road to face off against the Glencoe Crimson Tide on Friday. Nelson will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Wednesday, Nelson beat Lake Oswego 9-6. That's two games straight that Nelson has won by exactly three runs.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glencoe). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Jefferson 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Crimson Tide have posted since March 26, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Caden Kingsbury, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Nelson pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Glencoe, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-3.
