Basketball Game Preview: Puckett Wolves vs. St. Andrew's Episcopal Saints

The Puckett Wolves will head out to square off against the St. Andrew's Episcopal Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Puckett is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Puckett lost to Pelahatchie at home by a 74-57 margin. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Caili McAfee put forth a good effort for the losing side as she went 8 for 13 on her way to 20 points and five rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Shivers, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Puckett smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, St. Andrew's Episcopal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by Pisgah 63-22.

St. Andrew's Episcopal's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Puckett, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.

Puckett suffered a grim 50-27 defeat to St. Andrew's Episcopal in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Puckett avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
