Football Recap: King's Academy Skates Past Berean Christian with Ease

While King's Academy put up plenty of points on Saturday, the same can't be said for Berean Christian. The Knights really took it to the Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won four contests by 28 points or more so far this season.

King's Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aaron Duncan, who picked up 104 receiving yards and two touchdowns. That's the most receiving yards Duncan has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ricky Gutierrez, who threw for 229 yards and three TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes.

King's Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 3.5 times. Nathaniel Vargas refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Adrian Barnett got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory made it two in a row for King's Academy and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points over those games. As for Berean Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Coming up, King's Academy will take on Burlingame at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' defense better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 26.2 points per game this season. As for Berean Christian, they will face off against Modesto Christian at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
