Football Recap: Jesuit Piles Up the Points Against Beaverton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jesuit). They claimed a resounding 63-27 victory over the Beaverton Beavers. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-14.

Luke Ortner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 396 yards and six scores while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 14 rushing touchdowns on the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Wilson, who threw for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jesuit was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 431 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive matchups.

Jesuit's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Beaverton, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-2.

Coming up, Jesuit will challenge Mountainside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders will need to watch out since the Mavericks have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. As for Beaverton, they will host Westview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
