Volleyball Recap: Frontier Regional Takes a Loss

Frontier Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Amherst-Pelham Regional Hurricanes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hurricanes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 2nd.

While Frontier Regional ultimately came up short, they really made Amherst-Pelham Regional work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 26-24, 25-15.

Caitlin Maio paced Frontier Regional's offense, picking up seven kills. Maio got some help from Cadence Martin and her 16 assists. Martin also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Greta Hale, racking up three apiece.

Frontier Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Amherst-Pelham Regional, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frontier Regional will face off against Athol at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Amherst-Pelham Regional, they will challenge Longmeadow at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
