Baseball Recap: Santa Teresa Extends Winning Streak to Five

Santa Teresa barely beat Mountain View the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Santa Teresa blew past Mountain View 8-0 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Desert Warriors, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Ardon Luna, who gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Mountain View off the board. Those 13 strikeouts gave Luna a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Gavin Garcia was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jose Romo, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Santa Teresa, bringing their record up to 11-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Mountain View, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-9 record.

Coming up, Santa Teresa is taking a road trip to challenge Cathedral at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mountain View, they will welcome Fabens at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
