Baseball Recap: Lake Shore Gets the Win

Lake Shore won the last time they faced Cheektowaga and things went their way on Thursday too. The Eagles walked away with a 7-3 win over the Warriors. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Wyatt Dembowski was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Lake Shore's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Brody Schultz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 3-5. As for Cheektowaga, they are on a 33-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Lake Shore will square off against Depew at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cheektowaga, they will challenge Frontier at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
