After two games on the road, McIntosh is heading back home. They will welcome the Lovejoy Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, McIntosh was able to grind out a solid win over Newnan, taking the game 12-7.

Meanwhile, Lovejoy made easy work of Morrow on Tuesday and carried off a 17-5 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kye Gordon was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks every time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, going 1-for-2 with a home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kennedi Harley, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Jimison, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Lovejoy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .677. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

McIntosh's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Lovejoy, the victory also got them back to even at 3-3.

Everything went McIntosh's way against Lovejoy when the teams last played back in September of 2018 as McIntosh made off with a 12-0 win. Will McIntosh repeat their success, or does Lovejoy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
