Kreyton Wiese Dazzles in Wauneta-Palisade Victory

Starting off the list is Wauneta-Palisade's Kreyton Wiese, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Wiese rushed for 190 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. He is becoming a predictor of Wauneta-Palisade's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 2-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't).

For the season, Wiese has run in 16 touchdowns while averaging 125.6 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had one rushing touchdown.

Joe Eakins Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Joe Eakins stepped things up a notch to give Paxton the 'W'. Eakins was excellent, rushing for 146 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also catching a touchdown. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (101.6) per game. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles.

Paxton now has a winning record of 4-3. Eakins and Paxton will take on Southwest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Maddox Jones and Co. Win 19th in a Row

Maddox Jones's big game helped extend Sumner-Eddyville-Miller's winning streak to 19 on Friday. Jones was unstoppable, rushing for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Jones' next contest is against Wallace on Thursday, where he'll look to repeat that solid performance.

Ashtin Johns' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wallace over Wauneta-Palisade

Ashtin Johns posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 188 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.1 yards per carry.

Wallace moved to 5-2 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. Johns and Wallace will welcome Sumner-Eddyville-Miller at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Maddex Mcconnell Has Career-Day on Friday

Maddex Mcconnell posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign : he rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 37 receiving yards.

On the year, Mcconnell has averaged 23.6 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 6.43 receiving yards per game.
