Basketball Recap: Abby Adkins Key Part of a Team Effort in Greene Devils Win

Greeneville won the last time they faced Grainger and things went their way on Friday too. The Greeneville Greene Devils walked away with a 59-50 win over the Grainger Grizzlies. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Greene Devils.

Greeneville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Abby Adkins out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. Adkins is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games she's played. Maria Lyde was another key player, going 6 for 8 en route to 17 points and eight boards.

The win got Greeneville back to even at 9-9. As for Grainger, they dropped their record down to 10-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Greeneville and Grainger should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. Greeneville will take on Volunteer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 159 places (81 vs. 240). Similarly, Grainger (ranked 106th) will meet Cherokee (ranked 332nd) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
