Volleyball Recap: Verrado Vipers vs. Desert Edge Scorpions
Verrado suffered their biggest loss since May 3, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Desert Edge Scorpions. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Vipers haven't been shut out since back in March.
While Verrado was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-22, 28-26.
Cole Sanders paced Verrado's offense, picking up 11 kills. Sanders got some help from Zachary Doerksen and his 35 assists. Doerksen was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.
Verrado's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Desert Edge, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
